Future of an expanding Universe part III:
Summary:
The 1st, the Primordial Era, is the time in the past just after the Big Bang when stars had not yet formed. The 2nd, the Stelliferous Era, includes the Present Day & all of the stars & galaxies we see. It is the time during which stars form from collapsing clouds of gas.
In the subsequent Degenerate Era, the stars will have burnt out, leaving all stellar-mass objects as stellar remnants, White Dwarfs, Neutron stars, & Black Holes.
In the Black Hole Era, White dwarfs, Neutron stars, & other smaller astronomical objects have been destroyed by Proton decay, leaving only Black Holes.
Finally, in the Dark Era, even Black Holes have disappeared, leaving only a dilute gas of Photons & Leptons [electrons. etc.]. The Future History assumes the continued expansion of the Universe. If the Universe begins to recontract, subsequent events in the timeline may not occur because the Big Crunch,
That Big Crunch would be the recontraction of the Universe into a hot, dense state similar to that at the Big Bang, will supervene.
Timeline part 1:
Primordial Era [0 – 1 Million yrs.]
Stelliferous Era [from 1 Million yrs. to 100 Trillion yrs. post Big Bang]
The observable Universe is currently 13.8 Billion yrs. old, within the Stelliferous Era. About 155 Million yrs. after the Big Bang, the first star formed. Since then, stars have formed by the collapse of small, dense core regions in large, cold molecular clouds of Hydrogen gas. At first, this produces a proto-star, which is hot & bright because of energy generated by Gravitational contraction. After the proto-star contracts for a while, its center will become hot enough to fuse Hydrogen & a star begins.
Stars whose mass is very low will eventually exhaust all their fusible Hydrogen & then become Helium White Dwarfs. Stars of low to medium mass will expel some of their mass as a planetary Nebula & eventually become White Dwarfs.
More massive stars will explode in a core-collapse Supernova, leaving behind Neutron stars or Black holes. In any case, although some of the star’s matter may be returned to the interstellar medium. That degenerate remnant will be left behind with mass that is not returned to the interstellar medium. Therefore, the supply of gas available for star formation is steadily being exhausted.
The Milky Way Galaxy & the Andromeda Galaxy will merge into one 3 Billion years from now, 17 Billion yrs. after the Big Bang, or in ~ 25% of the Universe’s present age.
The Andromeda Galaxy is not about 2.5 Million Light-yrs. away from our Milky Way Galaxy, They are moving towards each other at approximately 120 kilometers per second. Approximately three Billion years from now, or 17 billion yrs. after the Big Bang, the Milky Way & the Andromeda Galaxy will collide with one another & merge into one large galaxy.
The galaxies in the Local Group, the cluster of galaxies which includes the Milky Way & the Andromeda Galaxy, are gravitationally bound to each other. It is expected that between 100 Billion & 1 Trillion yrs. from now, their orbits will decay and the entire Local Group will merge into one large galaxy.

The Mind does not bind the Self. The Mind does not define or limit the Self. The Mind does not divide the Self, & does not alter the Self. The Self is not bound by the Mind, because the Mind has no independent existence. The Self is not bound because there is nothing other than the Self, & so there is no Mind at all. The “Mind” is nowhere but in the Self, yet in the Self there is no Mind. The Self is not in the Mind, but the Self alone pervades the Mind to an extent that distinctions of pervader & pervaded do not exist.
Though thought exists only as the self, the Self has never become a thought & has never given rise to a thought. Thought is entirely unreal & does not exist at all. The Self alone exists & is 1–without–a–2nd. The Mind exists nowhere but in the Self, yet there is truly no Mind in the Self. The True Nature of the Mind is only the Self. There is truly not Mind at all & the Self alone exists.
Self-Realization is the Ego-less state. Freedom from the Ego is the quintessence of Liberation. That Freedom is Abidance in the Self as the Self. The falsely assumed, individualized “I” is completely removed by Self-Knowledge, & the 1 true “I” of the “I” alone remains.
