Senses
Those who would know the Self by Self-Knowledge cease to regard the Senses as the measure of Reality of the Self. This non–sensory Self-Knowledge reveals the Self’s freedom from the Senses & sets one free of the limitation of the Senses. Those who know there is neither permanence in the Senses nor Happiness by the Senses, who do not equate pleasure with Happiness, or pain with Suffering, but recognize that Happiness & Suffering are determined respectively by Knowledge of the Self or Ignorance of the Self.
Those who desire to experience the spiritual Truth beyond the Senses, take recourse to Self-Inquiry to know the Self. By such Self-Inquiry, the Knowledge of the Self is innately transcendent of the Senses and not bound by the Senses in any manner. The knowledge of the Self it is itself free from limitations of the Senses, as is the Self itSelf, and those who abide in this knowledge remain unmoved by whatever happens to the Senses. By knowledge of the Self, which is Knowledge of Reality, one brings about the destruction of the foundations of the Delusion of believing in the existence of an external World.
Vedanta World–views
The Dream analogy is similar to Drishti-Srishti Vada, in that the seen Dream–World is united with & arises from the Seer. Not entirely Non-Dual, Drishti-Srishti Vada, “simultaneous”–creation whereby the Seen, the World is united with & arises from the Seer, the Self, is a “working hypothesis” that can initially help one to see the World as an unreal projection of the Mind. When the World thus loses its attraction, this facilitates Self-Inquiry. A similar term is Yugapat-Srishti Jada “instantaneous”–creation, with a moment by moment version espoused by some Buddhists.
Exoteric, Dualistic, traditional, organized, Western religions adhere to Big–Bang–like divine Gradual–Creation with 2 names Srishti-Drishti or Krama-Srishti Vada. Non-Dual Advaita Vedanta‘s pinnacle is the Ajata Vada, No– Creation school.
