REALIZING NON–DUAL LIBERATION, ENLIGHTENMENT BY SELF-INQUIRY – PT 103

 Worldly thinking is a desperate search for Happiness, which however is only to be found within. Knowing that it is within, devoting our self to that which is within, our Thought, your Speech, & our Action become inspired, motivated by that very same Power within. It is not that the Self ever thinks, & certainly the Self never does anything.  But the best actions & thoughts preceding those actions are streaming forth from this inspiration of the Self.  So, the selfless activity is filled with a certain Happiness to which the worldly attempt can never compare.  Any worldly attempt at happiness that is driven by a desire to secure Happiness external to oneself can never compare.

 What prevents Self-Knowledge is one’s own adherence to Ignorance about the Self.  If the Ignorance ceases, Self-Knowledge shines, & one’s own Pure Existence is left in its True State.  Ignorance consists of Mis-identifications regarding oneself.  With Mis-identification, there seems to be 2, an Absolute Self & an individual self. The Non-Dual Teachings of Self-Knowledge are intended to remove that false differentiation by dissolution of Mis-identifications.  Mis-identification starts with the assumption of being an individual entity, a separate “I”, & consists of defining this “I” in a variety of delusive ways.  Thereupon follow the Mis-identification s with the Mind or thought, with the Life Energy or prana, with the Senses, with the Body, & then with various things in the World or the relation to them.  From all these Mis-identifications there arise all kinds of modes of Mind, emotions, & Bondage of all sorts that create suffering.
