REALIZING NON–DUAL LIBERATION, ENLIGHTENMENT BY SELF-INQUIRY – PT 176

Self-Realization has to do with one’s very Existence, one’s Consciousness.  Self-Realization is deeply knowing one’s Existence–Consciousness in the most profound way, in the much the same way all know that “they exist.”  How is Self-Realization attained ?  Such is not just due to the experiences of one’s Sense experiences or one’s passing thoughts.  How does one know all this & what is one’s Existence ?  The Real State of the Self is innate.  Self-Realization is not something to be externally attained or acquired.

Aids for realization include the Teachings of the Scriptures & of realized Sages.  Teachings, discussions, discourses, & meditations are only secondary aids, whereas the essential is the Guru’s Grace.

Even the desire to know how long will it take for one to get Self-Realization is an obstacle. The Self is ever there, there is nothing without it. Be the Self & the desires & doubts will disappear. Such Self is the Witness in Deep Sleep, Dream, & Waking State of existence. These States belong to the Ego. The Self transcends even the Ego.

Obstacles that hinder Realization of the Self are habits of mind (vasanas). Overcome the mental habits (vasanas) by realizing the Self.

It is the Ego which raises such difficulties, creating obstacles & then suffering from the perplexity of apparent paradoxes.  Find out who makes the Self-Inquiry & the Self will be found.
